Judge Greenberry SAMUELS (1806-1859) was born on February 1, 1806, at Green Hope Farm, Shenandoah County, Virginia. Greenberry was the son of Isaac SAMUELS (1763–1819) & Elizabeth PENNYBACKER (1766–1824).  On April 7, 1831, Greenberry married, nineteen year old, Anna Maria COFFMAN (1812–1844), in Shenandoah County, Virginia.   Greenberry died on January 5, 1859, in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia.  Greenberry and Anna had five known children:  Elizabeth M. Sarah BIRD (1801-1801) was born February 4, 1801, in St Phillips Parish, Creek Indian Reservation, Georgia. Sarah died February 6, 1801. Sarah was the daughter of Abraham BIRD (1771-1828) & Sarah GAINES (1776-1826) Sarah was the 3rd cousin twice removed of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954)

 Hugh Leon BIRD (1925-2001) was born on February 4, 1925 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Hugh was the son of Hugh Orlando BIRD (1890-1964) & Katherine Augustine VILLROT (1903-1982), He went by his middle name of Leon. On January 19, 1946, Leon married Billie Larue HARBOUR (1926-2011), the daughter of Robert S. HARBOUR (1891-?) & Emma Elizabeth "Willie" (1891-?), in Texas.  Billie was born on January 11, 1926 in Charlie, Comanche County, Texas and died on September 7, 2011 at age 85. Leon died on July 12, 2001 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, at age 76. Hugh Leon & Billie had three children:  Jerry Lynn BIRD, Eldon Leon BIRD and Lisa Larue BIRD Farmer. Leon was the nephew of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954). He took part in the July 4, 1990, 250th Anniversary of the founding of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. Leon was the 3rd great-grandson of ironmaster William BIRD (1706-1761)  and was also the 9th great-grandson of Thomas GAY (1590-?).

Charles Richard BEAVERS (1929-2008) & Martha Marie RUSSELL (1931-2007) were married on February 4, 1952, in Washington, District of Columbia. Richard was the son of James "Jim" S. BEAVERS (1908-1982) &  Florence Avis LINTON Beavers (1912-1990). Charles went by his middle name of Richard. He was born on March 13, 1929, in Fort Hunt, Mount Vernon District, Fairfax County, Virginia. He died on April 11, 2008, in Hartwood, Stafford County, Virginia, at age 79. Martha was the daughter of Edward James RUSSELL (1884-1964) & Mary Emily VALLANDINGHAM (1900-1970).  Martha was born on May 19, 1931, in Saint Mary's County, Maryland. She died on March 26, 2007 in Hartwood, Stafford County, Virginia, at age 75. Richard & Martha had four children: Deborah Ann BEAVERS Taylor, born on November 11, 1954; Pamela Marie BEAVERS Cooper, born on July 24, 1957; James Richard BEAVERS, born on February 21, 1959; Jeffery Michael BEAVERS born on September 10, 1963, all were born in Alexandria, Virginia.

William Seelye LINTON (1856-?) was born on February 4, 1856, in St. Clair, St. Clair County, Michigan. William died on November 22, 1927 and is buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

 

Adam RADER (1761-1832) was born on February 4, 1761, in Rockingham County, Virginia. Adam was married to Clara RUDDELL (1756-1818) the daughter of Ingabo BIRD (1719-1798) & Cornelius RUDDELL (1717-1798). Clara the 1st cousin four times removed of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954)

 

On February 4th it will be the 221st anniversary of the Electoral College of the United States of America unanimously elected George Washington as the first President of the United States on February 4, 1789. While in the modern world the Electoral College has become a mere formality for electing the president, to the Founding Fathers, the election of George Washington represented a successful system that was created through extensive discussion and compromise in the Constitutional Convention. George Washington (1731-1799) was the 4th cousin six times removed of Kirk Louis Linton (1914-1987). President George Washington served two terms and remains the only president ever elected unanimously by the Electoral College. The Electoral College was invented by James Wilson Sr. (1742-1798) the husband of Evelyn Virginia BIRD Linton’s 3rd great-grand aunt, Rachel BIRD Wilson (1749-1786) the daughter of Ironmaster William BIRD (1706-1761).

Cora Catherine BIRD (1922-1924) was born February 5, 1922, in Williamston, Anderson County, South Carolina. Cora died on August 31, 1924. Cora was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin BIRD (1889-1968) & Cora Lee KLECKLEY (1896-?) and the 2nd cousin twice removed of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954)

 

Natalie Jean BIRD & Jonathan S. ANDERSON were married on February 5, 2000, in Tarrant County, Texas. Natalie is the daughter of Eldon Leon BIRD & Patricia Gail WATSON and the great grandniece of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954)

 

Charles F. BLANCHARD (1857-1865) was born on February 5, 1857 in Oklahoma Territory. Charles was the son of Francis D. BLANCHARD (1834-1909) & Sarah M. (1837-1874). Charles died on February 20, 1865. Charles is part of family of Marjorie Blanchard LAFOREST (1927-2010) the wife of J. A. "Jeff Augustus" Jimmie" BIRD

Charles Ernest BOYLEN (1887-1889) was born February 5, 1887, in Pilot Rock, Umatilla County, Oregon.  Charles was the son of Herbert BOYLEN (1854-1933) & Maggie Matilda BYRD (1868-1955). Charles was the 5th cousin of Jeff Augustus "Gus" Bird (1893-1954)

 

Philip Jacob BUTZ (1749-1821)  was born on February 5, 1749/50, in Springfield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Philip was the son of Michael BUTZ (1721-1777) & Maria Elizabeth WEBER (1730-1795) of Hinzweiler, Pfaltz, Germany. Phiip died on January 6, 1821, in  Knowlton, Warren County, New Jersey.

 

Ira Virginius CAPPS (1845-1901) was born on February 5, 1845, in Pungo, Princess Anne County, Virginia. Ira was the son of Ira CAPPS Jr., (1802-1881) & Sarah Frances FISHER (1849-?). Ira Virginius CAPPS was the grand uncle of Clara Myrtle GRAY-Sadler Bird (1900-1988). Also the great-grand uncle of Evelyn Virginia "Polly" BIRD Linton (1922-2012).

 

Roger William CLAY (1889-1978) was born on February 5, 1889, in Peoria, Illinois. Roger married Esther Nettie DUNHAM (1894-1984) Roger & Esther were the great-grandparents of  Nancy Suzanne LINTON Toombs and Karen Ann LINTON Hinkson.

 

Mary F. DEXTER was born on February 5, 1913 in Sharon Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Mary was the daughter of Charles Amory DEXTER (1887-?) & Lydia C. FOLWELL (1882-1926). Mary was 2nd great-granddaughter of Doctor Lewis Colbert LINTON (1803-1876) & Sarah KOCHER (1810-1870) and the 2nd cousin once removed of Kirk Louis Linton (1914-1987).

Hattie Mae FLANAGIN (1884-1929) was born on February 5, 1884, in Keller, Tarrant County, Texas. Hattie was the first wife of Nicholas James PULLIAM (1882-1968).

They had twelve known children.  On October 18, 1834, Sarah Clark Macon HITE (1812-1896) married    Judge Mark BIRD (1810-1883) of Bird's Nest, Mount Jackson (present day) Shenandoah County, Virginia. Elbert KINGERY (1816-1896) was born on February 7, 1816 in Range Township, Madison County, Ohio. Elias was the son of Samuel KINGERY  (1788-1843) &  Catharine Evalene Eve SPON (1789-1876).  Elbert died on April 10, 1896 in Kasson, Madison County, Iowa at age 80.
