Linton Research Fund, Inc., was founded on July 18, 1987, by Kirk Louis Linton (1914-1987). This research fund was to be established and organized. Then to be used in the researching and publishing, of its findings, of the genealogical linage and history of the ancestors of Kirk Louis Linton. Its accomplishments, finding, and publications are a "Memorial to the memory of, the late, Kirk Louis Linton." We are a Non-Profit Corporation, governed by the State Corporation Commission, Commonwealth of Virginia.

Kirk Louis LINTON (1914-1987) was the 3^rd child of seven born to Charles Edward LINTON (1890-1958) & Annie Lucretia CRONK (1888-1956). Kirk was born on January 29, 1914, in his grandfather’s old family farmhouse, attended by a midwife. The farmhouse was located near Hunter’s Station and Fort Hunt, in the Mount Vernon District, of Fairfax County, Virginia. Kirk was christened late in 1914, in the Washington Street Methodist Church, Alexandria, Virginia.

Kirk married Evelyn Virginia BIRD (1922-2012), the daughter of Jeff Augustus "Gus" BIRD (1893-1954) & Clara Myrtle GRAY-SADLER (1900-1988) on November 11, 1944, in Washington, District of Columbia. Evelyn was born on May 17, 1922, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Evelyn was, also, known as "Polly" or "Birdy" Linton.

Kirk & Evelyn had two children:

i. Kenneth Edward LINTON was born on August 17, 1945 in Alexandria, Virginia.

ii. Terry Louis LINTON was born on November 8, 1949 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Kirk died on July 18, 1987, in the Mary Washington Hospital, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at age 73. Kirk was buried on July 22, 1987, next to his mother and father, in the Mount Comfort Cemetery, Fairfax County, Virginia. Evelyn died on November 14, 2012 in the North Richland Hill Hospital in Tarrant County, Texas, at age 90. Evelyn was burried next to her husband, Kirk in the Mount Comfort Cemetery.
