Kirk Louis LINTON (1914-1987)

Kirk Louis Linton was the 3rd child of seven born to Charles Edward Linton (1890-1958) and Annie Lucretia Cronk (1888-1956). Kirk was born on January 29, 1914, in his grandfather’s old family farmhouse, attended by a midwife. The farmhouse was located near Hunter’s Station and Fort Hunt, in the Mount Vernon District, of Fairfax County, Virginia. Kirk was christened late in 1914, in the Washington Street Methodist Church, in Alexandria, Virginia. 

Kirk married Evelyn Virginia BIRD (1922-2014), the daughter of Jeff Augustus Bird (1893-1954) and Clara Myrtle Gray (1900-1988) , on November 11, 1944, in Washington, District of Columbia.  Evelyn was the daughter of to Jeff Augustus "Gus" BIRD (1893-1954)  & Clara Myrtle GRAY-SADLER (1900-1988).    Evelyn was born on May 17, 1922, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Evelyn was, also, known as "Polly" or "Birdie". 

 

Kirk & Evelyn had two children:

i. Kenneth Edward LINTON was born on August 17, 1945 in Alexandria, Virginia.

ii. Terry Louis LINTON was born on November 8, 1949 in Alexandria, Virginia. 

 

Kirk died on July 18, 1987, in the Mary Washington Hospital, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at age 73. Kirk was buried on July 22, 1987, next to his mother and father, in the Mount Comfort Cemetery, Fairfax County, Virginia.  Evelyn  died on November 14, 2012 in the North Richland Hills Hospital in Tarrant County, Texas. She was buried next to her husband, Kirk in the Mount Comfort Cemetery.
