Jesse Sr., died on October 16, 1885 in St Joseph, Missouri, at age 76. Jesse married Laodicea RAY (1809-?) on February 28, 1825, in Hardin County, Kentucky. Laodicea was born about 1809 in Washington County, Kentucky. Jesse & Laodicea had two known children: Jesse BIRD Jr., born in 1849 in Hardin County, Kentucky and Martin BIRD, born about 1850 in Hardin County, Kentucky and Martin died in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Jesse BIRD Sr., was the 3rd cousin twice removed of Jeff Augustus "Gus" BIRD (1893-1954)

Joseph was the brother of Captain Richard BALL (January 2, 1638/39 - July 11, 1677) whom married Elizabeth LINTON (1645-1672), the daughter of Moss LINTON (1613-1693) & Mary Elizabeth (1613-?). Elizabeth was the 3rd cousin 8 times removed of Kirk Louis LINTON (1914-1987).

Dorothy BIRD (1588-1676) was born on May 25, 1588, in Towchester, County Northamptonshire, England. Dorothy was the daughter of Robert BIRD (1531-1587) & Amy HILL (1565-1625). Dorothy married Thomas LORD (1585-1678) on February 23, 1609/10, in Petersborough, England. Thomas was the son of Richard LORD (1555-1610) & Joan BIRD (1559-1610). Thomas & Dorothy had sixteen known children. Dorothy died on August 2, 1676, in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Mark BIRD (1836-1903) was born on May 25, 1836, at Bird's Nest, Mount Jackson, Shenandoah County, Virginia. Mark was the son of Judge Mark BIRD Sr., (December 23, 1810 - January 2, 1883) & Sarah Clark Macon HITE (November 7, 1812 - July 5, 1896). Mark fought in the Civil War in the Confederate Army. In 1880, Mark Jr., had was residence at Stonewall Plantation, in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Mark Jr., died on February 25, 1903 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, at age 66. This May 31st will be the 341st anniversary of the Lady Godiva procession, a commemoration of the legendary ride that was first held on Market Day on May 31, 1678, as part of the Coventry fair. Lady Godiva (1004-1080), or in Old English, GODGIFU meaning "god gift", was the 30th great-grandmother of Kirk Louis LINTON (1914-1987)? Lady Godiva is part of our RADCLIFFE Family Tree Branch. This year of 2011, is the 1007th anniversary of the birth of Lady Godiva. She was born about 1004 in County Coventry, England and died in 1080 about age 76. She is best remembered as the Anglo-Saxon noblewoman who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry England to free her tenants from high taxes.
