Nicholai GAY (1570–1636) & Mariae MUNCYE (1571–1633) were the 8th great-grandparents of Drusilla GAY (1868-1948) and the 9th great-grandparents of Jeff Augustus "Gus" BIRD (1893-1954) also the 10th great-grandparents of Evelyn Virginia BIRD (1922-2012)
Nicholai GAY (1570–1636) was born in 1570 and died 1636 in Cardross, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia “The original piece of land known as ’Cardross’ is at the eastern edge of the historic parish and the western point of the confluence of the River Clyde and River Leven at the town of Dumbarton, facing across to Dumbarton Rock and Castle. Today the land is known as “sand point” and sits on the edge of Dumbarton's Levengrove Park.[4] The site of medieval Cardross Kirk, and its remains, sits within Levengrove Park”.
Nicholai married Mariae MUNCYE (1571–1633) in Cardross in 1589. Mariae was born in 1571 and died in 1633 in Cardross, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. [i]
Nicholai & Mariae one had known child:
Thomas GAY (1590–1652) the emigrate. Thomas was born in 1590 in Cardross, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Thomas married Isabel DAYLE (1594–1654) on December 7, 1612, in Surrey, England. Isabel was born in August 1594 in York, Yorkshire, England.
Thomas & Isabel and their family emigrated to America in 1622 from Scotland to Isle Wight County, Virginia. [ii] Thomas died in Isle Wight County, Virginia in 1652. Isabel died in 1654 in Isle Wight County, Virginia. [iii]
