Charles Horton BIRD (1917-1999) was born on December 1, 1917, in Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County, Texas. Charles was the son of Charles Horton Oliver BIRD (1867–1933) & Annie Lorena ALLEN (1874–1964).
Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force on January 19, 1935 at Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County, Texas. Charles retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force on May 1, 1964 at Bolding Air Force Base, Anacostia, Washington, District of Columbia.
Charles married Virginia Ruth HULSE on July 1, 1944, in Sacramento, California. Virginia was the daughter of David Archibald HULSE (1889–1931) & Ruth Helen DeGROFT (1898–1987). Virginia was born on May 16, 1922 in Sacramento, California and died on February 10, 2011 in Fort Washington, Prince Georges County, Maryland. Charles died on May 4, 1999, in Fort Washington, Maryland, at the age of 81, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia Arlington, Virginia.
Charles was the great-grandson of George BIRD (1774-1847) and the 2nd cousin of Jeff Augustus "Gus" BIRD (1893–1954) also the 2nd cousin once removed of Evelyn Virginia BIRD Linton (1922-2012). Also, the 10th cousin ten times removed of Kirk Louis LINTON (1914-1987) Also, the 22nd cousin once removed of Clara Myrtle GRAY-Saddler Bird (1900-1988).
