Janet KERR (1489-1546) was the 11th great-grandmother of Evelyn Virginia BIRD (1922-2012). She is the Common Ancestor between our Bird and Linton families.
Janet was the daughter of Andrew KERR ( 1471–1545) Baron of Ferniehurst & Janet HOME (1475–1543). She was born in 1489 in Ferniehirst, Roxburghshire, Scotland and died in January 1569 in Buccleluch Estate, Ettrick, Selkirkshire, Scotland, age 80.
In 1507, Janet married George TURNBULL (1453–1522) Lord Hownam, in Hownam Roxburghshire, Scotland. George was the son of Bishop William TURNBULL (1410–1454) & Lady Georgina CRICHTON (1413–1474), George was born in 1453 in Bedrule, Traquair, Roxburghshire, Scotland and died in 1522 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
George & Janet had five known children:
