Frances Gail BIRD Crooks (1946-2014) was born on March 6, 1946, in Austin, Travis County, Texas. (1) Frances was the daughter of Frank Lafayette BIRD (1913-1994) & Ora Gail MARTIN (1916-2010). (2) On June 17, 1967, Frances married Gerald Wayne CROOKS Sr., (3) the son of Arthur Earvin CROOKS (May 15, 1925 – September 6, 2001) and Willowease BLAIR (October 8, 1908 – November 13, 1987), both born in Williamson County, Texas. (4) Gerald was born on August 21, 1944, in Travis County, Texas. (5)

 

Frances was member of the New Hope First Baptist Church, 200 W. New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, Texas, (6) Frances loved genealogy research and spent many years digging into her ancestors past. (7) Frances died on November 26, 2014, in Travis County, Texas, at the age of 68. (8)

 

Frances Gail and Wayne had four children:

  i. Tammy Kay CROOKS was born on December 16, 1962, in Austin, Travis County, Texas. Tammy married Chris Alexander JONES on January 1, 1982 in Texas. Chris was born on March 22, 1963, in Tarrant County, Texas. (9)

 

ii. Laura Gail CROOKS was born on April 6, 1968 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. Laura married Buddy HAYES on November 7, 1987, in Texas. Buddy was born about 1968 in Texas. (10)

 

iii. Debbie Lynn CROOKS was born on October 29, 1969 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. (11)

 

 iv. Gerald Wayne CROOKS Jr. was born on October 25, 1972 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. (10)

Frances Bird Crooks (1946-2014) Obituary

Birth:    March 6, 1946

Death: November 26, 2014

 

Frances Bird Crooks passed away on November 26, 2014. She was born in Austin, Texas on March 6, 1946 to Frank and Ora Bird. Plagued throughout most of her life with multiple health problems, she never let them control who and what she was – a woman with a heart of gold who spread love and hope to all who were fortunate to know her.

 

Frances is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Crooks; daughters, Tammy Jones, Laura Hayes, Debbie Melton and her only son, Gerald "Jerry" Crooks, Jr. Her family cherished every minute they had with this fine, upstanding Christian woman who taught them what true love is through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Frances is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Frank Bird, Jr. and Richard Bird, and many additional family members.

 

A visitation will be held on December 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 South Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas, 78641. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at New Hope First Baptist Church, 200 W. New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, Texas, 78613. A graveside service will follow at 11:15 a.m. at Bagdad Cemetery, 1120 Applerock, Leander, Texas, 78641.

 

The family has requested that you join them as they celebrate the life of such an amazing woman.

Burial: Bagdad Cemetery, Plot: New Section B, Row 6, Grave 185, Leander, Williamson County, Texas.
